The Route 101/Bailey Avenue Interchange was part of the Bailey Avenue Extension project, a $45 million improvement to provide access to the North Coyote Valley Campus Industrial Area in South San Jose. The City of San Jose and the developer, CVRP, jointly sponsored the project using a combination of STIP funds and local funds. HMH initially prepared the PS&E for the developer on an accelerated schedule to meet commitments proposed by Cisco Systems. HMH coordinated an EIR addendum, archaeological investigations, Supplemental Project Report, right-of-way certification, UPRR concurrence, design exceptions, foundation investigation, geotechnical design and materials report. Assistance was also rendered in obtaining required approval of a 1601 Streambed Alteration Agreement from California Department of Fish and Game, a Section 404 permit from Army Corps of Engineers, a Section 401 Water Quality Certification from the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and two permits from Santa Clara Valley Water District.
